Twenty-five years of gathering

From the 2015 Toledo royal visit through the 25th Anniversary in DMV — every NCDA-USA national convention and General Assembly, with the resolutions, branch reports, and host chapters that shaped each year.

  1. 2026

    25th Anniversary Convention & Cultural Jamboree

    "Heritage Preservation — 25 Years of Service"

    July 16–19, 2026 Crowne Plaza, Greenbelt, MD Host: NCDA-DMV In-Person

    NCDA-USA returns to the nation's capital region to mark 25 years of service. Hosted by the DMV chapter, the convention welcomes His Royal Majesty Fon Azehfor III for the keynote and community reception, with delegations from every U.S. chapter.

  2. 2025

    Annual NCDA-USA Convention

    July 18, 2025 (GAM at 11:30 AM) Farmington Hills, MI Host: NCDA-Michigan In-Person

    The Michigan chapter hosted NCDA-USA for the first time, opening with prayer led by Gideon and the Nkwen anthem. Pa Atowo, an NCDA founding member, addressed the assembly and called for a more united project agenda. Major business focused on confirming DMV as the 2026 host, the upcoming Fon's visit, and the composition of the Board of Directors.

  3. 2024

    Annual NCDA-USA Convention

    July 2024 Los Angeles, CA Host: NCDA California / Nevada In-Person

    Hosted by the founding California / Nevada chapter, the 2024 convention generated 32 pledges totaling close to $14,000 toward Nkwen development. NCDA-CA renewed its Hartford group life insurance plan (Group #3254, 31 covered members), continuing a benefit first established for the chapter years earlier.

  4. 2023

    Annual NCDA-USA Convention

    July 2023 California Host: NCDA California / Nevada In-Person

    California / Nevada hosted the 2023 convention as agreed at the 2022 DMV General Assembly. The gathering continued the post-pandemic momentum and welcomed growing participation from the new Texas branch.

    First Post-Pandemic In-Person Convention

    "Reunion and Renewal"

    July 16, 2022 Maryland (DMV) Host: NCDA-DMV In-Person

    After two virtual gatherings, NCDA-USA returned to an in-person General Assembly hosted by DMV. CTC Chair Mrs. Caroline Ndifor (Mabre Ngenjang) closed her three-year mandate with a comprehensive address and handed leadership to a new Board of Directors composed of branch presidents plus three at-large members.

  6. 2021

    Virtual Annual General Meeting

    July 31, 2021 Zoom Host: NCDA-USA Care Taker Committee Virtual (Zoom)

    With COVID-19 still active, NCDA-USA again convened virtually. The Constitution Review Committee (CRC) presented its proposed amendments and the GAM extended the CTC's mandate by another year, charging it with delivering an in-person 2022 convention.

  7. 2020

    First Virtual General Assembly

    July 18, 2020 · 4:00 PM EST Zoom Host: NCDA-USA Care Taker Committee Virtual (Zoom)

    NCDA-USA's first-ever virtual General Assembly, convened mid-pandemic with Mrs. Caroline Ndifor (Mabre Ngenjang) chairing. The assembly extended the CTC mandate by one year, formed a Constitutional Review Committee, and coordinated COVID-19 relief support to Nkwen totaling several thousand dollars across branches.

  8. 2018

    NCDA-USA Revival Get-Together

    "The Call for NCDA-USA Revival"

    June 16, 2018 Aliante Casino + Hotel, Scottsdale Ballrooms A&B, Las Vegas, NV Host: NCDA CA-NV (West Coast) In-Person

    After the 2016 DMV convention failed to materialize and national activity stalled into a string of lukewarm NEC conference calls, NCDA CA-NV (West Coast) volunteered to spearhead a national revival. Branch executives and representatives gathered in Las Vegas to reconnect, recognize the men and women appointed by HRM Fon Azehfor III in 2015, and chart the path back to a regular annual convention.

  9. 2019

    EGAM & CTC Election

    Weekend of July 20, 2019 Minnesota Host: NCDA-Minnesota In-Person

    After a multi-year hiatus following the 2015 Toledo convention, NCDA-USA gathered in Minnesota for an Extraordinary General Assembly. The EGAM elected a four-person Care Taker Committee with limited powers, charged with restoring the association's non-profit status and delivering a 2020 convention in DMV.

    Toledo Convention — First U.S. Royal Visit

    "Water is Life"

    July 16–20, 2015 (Royal visit July 9 – August 9) Radisson Hotel, Toledo, Ohio Host: NCDA Great Lakes (Ohio) In-Person

    A landmark convention marking His Royal Majesty Fon Azehfor III's first official U.S. visit as Paramount Fon of Nkwen, one year after his 2014 enthronement. The Fon's month-long visit (July 9 – August 9) crisscrossed Los Angeles, San Diego, Toledo, Minneapolis, and Maryland. The 'Water is Life' theme launched a multi-year focus on water infrastructure for the village, with grand fundraisers in every host city.

  11. 2014

    NCDA-USA Convention — Las Vegas

    "Promoting Better Health and Education in Nkwen"

    July 17–21, 2014 Las Vegas, Nevada Host: NCDA California In-Person

    Hosted by NCDA-California in Las Vegas under Convention Chair Mrs. Caroline Ndifor, the 2014 convention closed Mr. Peter Tamajong's twelve-year arc of leadership and transitioned the National Executive to a new team led by Prince Herman Azefor. Branch reports, scholarship pledges, and the formal seating of Project, Cultural, and Health committees set the stage for the 2015 royal-visit year.

    NCDA-USA Convention — 10th Anniversary

    "Building Healthy, Educated and Prosperous Communities in Nkwen"

    July 18–21, 2013 Sheraton Wilmington South Hotel, New Castle, Delaware Host: NCDA Delaware In-Person

    The 10th Anniversary convention of NCDA-USA, hosted by the Delaware chapter under Host President Mr. John Awahmukalah and National President Mr. Peter Tamajong. Branches from Delaware, Maryland, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Minnesota and Ohio attended, with a representative from Florida. The General Assembly approved three landmark village development projects in principle and formally created an independent Project Management Committee.

  13. 2012

    NCDA-USA Convention — Minnesota

    "Cultural Continuity & Community Building"

    July 2012 Minnesota Host: NCDA Minnesota In-Person

    The Minnesota convention gathered NCDA-USA branches under National President Mr. Peter Tamajong's leadership team — including PRO Mrs. Pamela Aze, BOD Secretary Mr. John Awahmukalah, and Secretary General Prince Herman Azefor. Featured prominently in the July 2013 issue of Nkwen USA Magazine, the convention reinforced cultural programming, branch growth, and the scholarship pipeline that would mature in Delaware the following year.

  14. 2011

    NCDA-USA Convention — Boston

    "Cultural Heritage & Community Health"

    July 21–24, 2011 Wyndham Hotel, 123 Old River Road, Andover, MA 01810 Host: NCDA Boston In-Person

    The first national convention of the Tamajong administration, hosted by NCDA-Boston at the Wyndham Hotel in Andover, Massachusetts. The four-day program blended cultural showcases — featuring Bafuchu, Mehta (MECUDA), Mankon, and Bamileke associations alongside NCDA-USA — with the General Assembly's adoption of financial reports, the State of the Association address, a Health Project presentation, and renewed scholarship and project commitments.

  15. 2010

    NCDA-USA Convention — Washington Metro

    "A New Mandate for Nkwen Development"

    July 16–18, 2010 Maryland (Washington Metro) Host: NCDA Washington Metro (DC/MD) In-Person

    Hosted by the Washington Metro branch in Maryland, the 2010 convention reset NCDA-USA's leadership after the contested 2009 Los Angeles election. On July 17, 2010, the General Assembly elected Mr. Peter Tamajong as National President — formalizing the pro-tem mandate he had carried since the 2009 chapter-presidents' conclave — and entrusted the new administration with crafting a futuristic vision, a working constitution, and a sustainable development pipeline for the village.

  16. 2009

    NCDA-USA Convention — City of Angels

    "Patriotism, Culture & Development"

    July 24–26, 2009 Los Angeles, California Host: NCDA Los Angeles In-Person

    The 6-year-old NCDA-USA convened in Los Angeles for three days of cultural celebration, fellowship, and project fundraising. Documented in the Premier Issue of NkwenVibe Magazine (June 2009), the gathering reflected on the association's early projects — a vehicle for HRH the Fon of Nkwen, improved housing for the Queens, and member-funded scholarships for Nkwen pupils and students — while looking ahead to a more ambitious development agenda.
